1. Decors, monuments, landscapes: global approaches to heritage

Members of theme 1 focus their research on landscape history, urban planning, architecture, stained glass as well as on the iconology of monuments, from the Middle Ages to the 21st century.
Their work lightens the symbolic and imaginary roles of art, architecture, landscapes, cultural and material heritage in representations that societies construct of themselves.
