Nastasia Gallian. "Marseilles and the Print Trade across France, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, 1720-90". Print Quarterly, 2026, XLIII (4), pp.11-19. ⟨hal-05782892⟩
In the eighteenth century, the seaport of Marseilles was a major transit point for prints circulating in one or both directions between France and other countries such as Spain, the Italian states, the Levant and, to a lesser extent, the Netherlands and Hanseatic cities. New research carried out in the registers of the port of Marseilles and in the lists of creditors and debtors of French printsellers has made it possible to document this international circulation in the print trade in the late eighteenth century. This article focuses in particular on exports and imports carried out by Parisian printmakers via Marseilles.
