Academic Art Discussion

During the festival « МИНАЛО НЕ МИНАЛО » (« The Past not passed »)

A discussion with Dr. Ina Belcheva (France), Assoc. Prof. Alessandro Gallicchio (France), Prof. Venelin Shurelov (Bulgaria) and Driant Zeneli (Albania) that aims at presenting a critical reflection on the place dissonant heritage from the socialist period occupies in contemporary urban spaces.

This will be an exploration of the way, more than thirty years after the fall of the communist regimes, art creation looks at the recent past and its heritage, establishing aesthetic links between history and memories.

Approaching heritage in its double manifestation, at the same time tangible and intangible, the discussion wishes to open new transnational perspectives in the debates, starting from two case studies: Georgi Dimitrov’s mausoleum in Sofia and Enver Hoxha’s Museum (“mausoleum”) in Tirana.
